What is Kitsch? What is good or bad taste? Does Kitsch transport and/or negotiate ideologies? Is there a "Politics of Kitsch"?
In this seminar, we will investigate potential answers to these and more questions. We will engage with critical cultural theories and philosophies on taste in general and Kitsch in particular, and look at a wide variety of different examples.
Students in the FsB 2017 should have completed BM1 and BM2 before attending this class.
Students in the FsB 2022 need to have passed the Language Proficiency Test before attending this class.
