319415 Reading Course "Statistische Wissenschaften" (S) (SoSe 2024)

Contents, comment

In this course, we discuss discrete choice models.
Classical discrete choice models are used when a decision maker's choice for one option out of a discrete and finite set of alternatives is to be modelled.
One example would be the choice of transportation mode to get to the university (bus, train, car, bicycle or by foot).
The goal is to understand the reasons behind the choices and to make predictions.

Requirements for participation, required level

It is expected that participants are familiar with basic statistics (e.g. from introductory courses in statistics, stochastics or econometrics).
