Angemessene Sprachverwendung beschränkt sich nicht auf die Ebene der grammatischen Richtigkeit oder die der Aussprache. Missverständnisse und kommunikative Schwierigkeiten entstehen viel wahrscheinlicher durch unterschiedliche pragmatische Normen. Diese sind besonders in Gesprächen bzw. Kommunikationssituationen zu beobachten, in denen einer der Kommunikationspartner in einer Fremd- oder Zweitsprache kommuniziert.
Im Seminar werden wir uns u.a. mit verschiedenen Sprechakten (auffordern/bitten, sich entschuldigen, etc.) und Aspekten sprachlicher Höflichkeit beschäftigen, kulturelle Stereotypen kritisch betrachten sowie genaues Augenmerk darauf legen, durch welche sprachlichen Mittel eine jeweilige Äußerung (im Deutschen) modifiziert werden kann und welche Wirkung dadurch intendiert bzw. erzielt werden kann. Ebenfalls geplant ist ein Exkurs in die Soziolinguistik.
