Aims of the seminar
This course aims to equip students with the Business English vocabulary and etiquette for communicating in professional settings. By the end of the course, participants should have developed their knowledge of email and phone etiquette in the workplace and their ability to critically discuss topics related to employment issues and a variety of fields in the professional world. In this course, students will develop the skills and etiquette necessary to prepare them for the English-speaking job market and workplace.

email writing, phone etiquette, professional communication, resume writing, cover letter writing, job interview preparation.
Working method/how do you convey this?
Group discussions, English-language newsletters on various topics (i.e. finance, team development, management, marketing, working with AI, etc.), news videos, writing tasks, group projects.

The binding module descriptions contain further information, including specifications on the "types of assignments" students need to complete. In cases where a module description mentions more than one kind of assignment, the respective member of the teaching staff will decide which task(s) they assign the students.
Requirements for participation
Active attendance and participation in group activities, projects, discussions, short presentations and writing tasks.
There will be weekly writing and speaking assignments:
- Participation in 8 out of 10 weekly assignments (vocabulary tests, writing assignments, and short presentations)
- Completion of a final group project and presentation. The details and topics of the assignment will be disclosed during the first lesson.
- Submission of a professional CV/resume and cover letter.
More detailed information on the scope, duration and requirements will be communicated to participants at the beginning of the course.
Please note: If participants are unable to attend a session, it is necessary to inform the lecturer and the program coordination in advance for proper planning of the seminar.
This course has a video conference. Details will be displayed to you as a participant of this course. For an event with participant management, you must also be registered as attending by the teaching staff.
