360007 Tod und Jenseitsvorstellungen in Israel und im Alten Orient (S) (WiSe 2010/2011)

Die biblischen Vorstellungen zum Tod und dem Totenreich haben sich parallel zur israelitischen Religionsgeschichte entwickelt und ausdifferenziert. Eine erhebliche Rolle hat hierbei die Wandlung des Welt- und Gottesbildes von einer polytheistischen Weltanschauung hin zu einer monolatrischen und letztlich monotheistischen Weltsicht gespielt. Die altorientalische Mythologie hat die biblischen Vorstellungen auf unterschiedliche Weise mitgeprägt. Die wandelnde Gottesvorstellung hat schließlich zu einer neuen Vorstellung von der Unterwelt, dem Reich der Toten, geführt. Im Verlauf des Seminares soll die Thematik aus unterschiedlichen Perspektiven – altorientalischen, biblisch-theologischen, anthropologischen und archäologischen - erarbeitet werden.
