Im Seminar „Archiv statt ‚Fake News‘. Archive, Archivalien, born digitals und die Geschichtswissenschaft“ befassen wir uns mit Archiven als Orte historischer Quellen, des Rechtsstaats und der Rechtssicherung sowie als Ort der Forschung und der Geschichtsvermittlung. Im Seminar soll geübt werden, wie in Archiven und deren Onlineangeboten recherchiert werden kann und wie ein Archivbesuch vorbereitet wird. Darüber hinaus werden Kenntnisse über Archivalien erarbeitet; dabei liegt der Schwerpunkt auf dem digitalen Angebot von Archiven und den genuin elektronischen Archivalien („born digitals“). Das Seminar verfolgt zum einen das Ziel, angehende Historiker*innen zu befähigen, in Archiven mit Archivalien systematisch zu arbeiten und dabei mit quellenkritischen Methoden vorzugehen. Dabei werden archivwissenschaftliche Aspekte einfließen. Zum anderen sollen die aktuellen und historischen Aufgaben und Funktionen von Archiven in Staat, Gesellschaft und für die Wissenschaft erarbeitet werden. Dabei werden Informationen zum Beruf der Archivarin/des Archivars nicht fehlen. Zum Seminarprogramm gehören auch Exkursionen zu Archiven in Nordrhein-Westfalen.
Es werden max. 5 Teilnehmende aus dem Studiengang "Studieren ab 50" zugelassen.
