Medien vermitteln ihre Botschaften durch Bilder, (durch Ton) und durch Schrift. Die Anforderungen an die Mediengestaltung sind dabei nicht nur dem wandelnden Zeitgeist unterworfen, auch der technische Wandel stellt permanent neue Herausforderungen.
In dieser Werkstatt werden gerätetechnische, anwendungspraktische und gestalterische Kenntnisse im Umgang mit Medien vermittelt. Neben der Vermittlung, Erarbeitung und Erprobung von grundlegenden Kenntnissen in der analogen und digitalen Bildproduktion und Verarbeitung werden die Gesetzmäßigkeiten der Bildgestaltung, des Layouts und der Typografie vorgestellt.

Es handelt sich um eine Vertiefende Werkstatt Kunst. Grundkenntnisse im Bereich Fotografie werden erwartet. Kenntnisse zu Software und im Fotolabor sind keine Voraussetzung.

In dem Seminar gehen Theorie und Praxis dabei Hand in Hand. TeilnehmerInnen führen in jedem Bereich (Fotografieren mit DSLR-Kamera, Studiolicht, Fotolabor, Postproduktion am Computer mit Adobe Photoshop und InDesign) eigenständig Übungsprojekte durch. Die Vergabe von 4 LP sieht die eigenständige Konzeption und Produktion der ästhetisch-praktischen Aufgabe zum Thema "Paarweise" vor.
Zur Veranstaltung gehört auch ein Besuch der Ausstellung in MARTa Herford - Neue Werke in der Sammlung Marta "Paarweise".
