This class constitutes one option for the BPST Anglistik ***primary school*** which you can do at the Laborschule (year 1/2/3 or 3/4/5). During your placement, you will have to do a small teaching project.
We observe the current situation. At the moment we presume that the "normal placement" (including introductory lesson, attendace times at school and the report) will be possible.
In order to make you practically fit for your placement and your project, this class will cover teaching methods, diagnosis of language learners' competences, fostering, differentiation and individualisation as well as lesson planning in the English as a Foreign Language (EFL) Classroom. Contentwise the class will focus on young EFL learners in primary school settings. Because of this, the class is designed primarily for primary school students. In order to get into the course, you have to study English as one of your subjects.
Furthermore, you will get to know the concept of Laborschule during a day project during semester. Exact times and dates will follow.
The placement will take part during the semester break. Please note that it is NOT possible to do the placement during the semester (i.e. "semesterbegleitend"). In the end, you will have to write a report about your placement.
Project day: in the beginning of the semester, exact time t.b.a.
Placement: 4 weeks: some time around February/ March (exact dates/times t.b.a. depending on when the schedule for the new school year will be available to us)

The binding module descriptions contain further information, including specifications on the "types of assignments" students need to complete. In cases where a module description mentions more than one kind of assignment, the respective member of the teaching staff will decide which task(s) they assign the students.
