Ein T-Shirt erklärt die Weltwirtschaft, eine Geschichte der Welt wird in 100 Objekten erzählt und der Blick auf den Nationalsozialismus mittels einer historischen Produktlinienanalyse des Schuhs ausgerichtet – dies sind nur wenige Beispiele dafür, dass sich die (geschichts)wissenschaftliche Beschäftigung mit Dingen seit geraumer Zeit einiger Beliebtheit erfreut. Im Seminar werden theoretische Perspektiven benachbarter Sozial- und Kulturwissenschaften auf Dinge in den Blick genommen und Potenziale und Grenzen eines thinking through things diskutiert.
