Rechtsextremismus in der Bundesrepublik ist ein seit Jahren viel diskutiertes gesellschaftliches Problem. Verschiedene Wissenschaftsdisziplinen – so etwa die Soziologie, die Politik- und Erziehungswissenschaften – beteiligen sich rege an den Auseinandersetzungen. Hingegen fällt auf, dass sich die Geschichtswissenschaft des Themas bisher nur selten angenommen hat.
Das Ziel der Veranstaltung besteht daher darin, einen Überblick über Phänomene des Rechtsextremismus in der „alten“ Bundesrepublik zu geben sowie themenbezogene Forschungsansätze und gesellschaftliche Deutungen zu analysieren.
Zum Programm gehört eine Exkursion zum Kreismuseum Wewelsburg.
