Augustinus 'Confessiones' (um 400 n. Chr.), die wir in deutscher Übersetzung lesen werden (mit gelegentlichem Seitenblick auf den lateinischen Text), sind der Gründungstext der Gattung 'Autobiographie'. Wer sich mit diesem Text einmal intensiver befasst, wird in Zukunft besser mit Begriffen wie 'Subjekt', 'Selbstreflexion', 'poetologische Selbstreflexiviät' umzugehen verstehen.
Wir werden ausgewählte Passagen genau interpretieren und im zweiten Teil des Seminars auf die Geschichte der Autobiographie in der Neuzeit eingehen.
