Verschiedene Wissenschaftsdisziplinen – so etwa die Soziologie, die Politik-, Rechts- und Erziehungswissenschaften – beteiligen sich rege an der Auseinandersetzung mit dem Thema „Rechtsextremismus“. Die Geschichtswissenschaft hingegen tut sich bisher noch schwer.
Das Ziel der Veranstaltung besteht daher darin, einen Überblick über Phänomene des Rechtsextremismus in der Bundesrepublik in der Zeit zwischen 1970 und 1995 zu geben sowie themenbezogene Forschungsansätze und gesellschaftliche Deutungen nachzuzeichnen.
Zwar handelt sich um eine Fortsetzung des Grundseminars aus dem Sommersemester 2015, die Mitarbeit in der Vorgängerveranstaltung ist aber keine Teilnahmevoraussetzung.
