Aufbauend auf den allgemeinen datengetriebenen Verfahren zur Repräsentation und Verarbeitung von Texten, die in der "Maschinelle Sprachverarbeitung" besprochen wurden, gibt dieser Kurs einen tieferen Einblick in verschiedene Anwendungen der Computerlinguistik, wie z.B. Parsing, Informationsextraktion, Koreferenzerkennung, Textzusammenfassung, Maschinelle Übersetzung, etc. Anhand einiger ausgewählter Anwendungen werden wir uns jeweils mit konkreten Datensätzen, Modellen, Evaluationsmethoden und Ergebnissen sowohl theoretisch als auch praktisch beschäftigen. Ziel des Kurses ist es, praktische Erfahrung mit der Anwendung und Implementation von datengetriebenen Verfahren in der Computerlinguistik zu sammeln, um dabei die Möglichkeiten und Grenzen dieser Verfahren besser einschätzen zu lernen.
