This seminar is designed to train ourselves in forming opinions and verbalizing them in a professional and pedagogically appropriate manner. As primary source, we will discuss and use material from the 2000's pop culture phenomenon Avatar: The Last Airbender. At the end of each session, our group will reflect upon the experience and formulate impulses and ideas for our next meeting in a democratic manner. While we focus on methods that are used in theatre pedagogy, we are free to draw inspiration from different creative sources: art, dance, literature, music and whatever comes to mind that will be of benefit to us. By the end of the summer term, the group should have become acquainted with approaches and strategies regarding how to feel more comfortable forming and talking about an opinion in public.
The seminar is aimed at students in all the teaching (Lehramt) programmes, and we will be using secondary sources focusing on teaching and pedagogy. However, anyone who wants to participate is more than welcome!
Please note that the credit points for Study Groups are NOT recorded separately in your transcripts! The study group leaders send me a list of successful participants at the end of the group, and I share this with my colleagues who are responsible for supervising the Internationalisation at Home modules. Please make sure you sign up for
230274 Praktische Erfahrung für Internationalisierung at home (9 LP) (Pr) [ Skorge, Louloudi ]
230275 Modulprüfung 23-ANG-IntH: Internationalisierung at home (MDP) [ Skorge, Louloudi ]
so that all your Int@Home points can be registered by the Prüfungsamt WHEN YOU HAVE SUCCESSFULLY SUBMITTED YOUR FINAL REPORT. Before that, your points will not appear. (Points for FSZ courses only appear because of their credit system - they become "Int@Home" points anyway.)

The binding module descriptions contain further information, including specifications on the "types of assignments" students need to complete. In cases where a module description mentions more than one kind of assignment, the respective member of the teaching staff will decide which task(s) they assign the students.
Students should be familiar with the primary source in order to take part in the impro sessions and discussions.
