Das Seminar vermittelt über die gemeinsame Lektüre relevanter Arbeiten und an authentischen Beispieln aus der aktuellen Forschungspraxis Kenntnisse zu Methoden der qualitativen empirischen Linguistik. Dazu gehören z.B. Konversations- und Gesprächsanalyse, Diskursanalyse sowie die Methoden der Text-, Medien- und Soziolinguistik.
Anhand des Entwurfs eigener kleiner Projekte lernen die SeminarteilnehmerInnen die Voraussetzungen, Fragestellungen, Vorgehensweisen und Ergebnisse der verschiedenen Methoden einzuschätzen und in das Spektrum der linguistischen Forschungsmethoden allgemein einzuordnen.

Requirements for participation, required level

Das Seminar ist teilnehmerbegrenzt. Aufgenommen werden können nur Studierende, die sich verbindlich per Mail angemeldet haben bei lars.faulenbach@arcor.de . Zusätzlich ist es unbedingt notwendig, sich im eKVV einzutragen, damit die TeilnehmerInnen-Daten korrekt ans Prüfungsamt übermittelt werden können.

Die SeminarteilnehmerInnen entwickeln eigene kleine empirische Projekte und wenden darin eine (ggf. auch mehrere) ausgewählte Methode exemplarisch an. Zusammen mit Kurzessays als kritischer Auseinandersetzung mit jeder der kennengelernten Methoden entsteht so veranstaltungsbegleitend ein Portfolio im Umfang von insgesamt 8-10 Seiten. Damit bereiten die Kurzessays auf die Modul-Abschlussprüfung vor bzw. stellen die so erworbenen Kompetenzen eine notwendige Voraussetzung für das erfolgreiche Ablegen der Abschlussprüfung dar
Die Modul-Abschlussprüfung kann im Rahmen des Seminars abgelegt werden und findet statt in Form einer 30minütigen mündlichen Prüfung, bei der eine der zuvor dokumentierten Methoden an einem Datenbeispiel dargestellt wird. Alternativ kann die Abschlussprüfung auch als schriftliche Ausarbeitung im Umfang von 6-8 Seiten erfolgen, die ebenfalls eine der dokumentierten Methoden an einem Datenbeispiel genauer darstellt.
