Virtual reality (VR) has been widely used in the entertainment domain, where it was usually controlled by eye-tracking or remote controls. Recently VR becomes relevant in other domains like arm rehabilitation after stroke. Hence the interest in interacting with the VR by touch grows strongly.
The task during the ISY project is to develop a specified VR scenario, in which humans can interact haptically with the environment. In the game-like scenario humans meet the challenge to move blocks as fast as possible from one place to an other one (e.g. [1]).
The scenario will be created using the game engine Unity and the latest version of the exoskeleton Dexmo [2,3], which can simulate a virtual reality with force feedback.

Please get in touch with the supervisors for information on the application procedure.

The binding module descriptions contain further information, including specifications on the "types of assignments" students need to complete. In cases where a module description mentions more than one kind of assignment, the respective member of the teaching staff will decide which task(s) they assign the students.
