In dieser Übung soll das Verhältnis von Unternehmen, Koporativkörperschaften und dem Staat vom späten 19. bis in das späte 20. Jhr. aus der Perspektive wirtschafts- und politikwissenschaftlicher Diskussionen und wirtschaftshistorischer Methoden beleuchten. Es soll dabei der Diskurs um Funktion der Unternehmen, des Staates und korporativer Körperschaften (v.a. Gewerkschaften, Verbände, Kammern) in der Perspektive zeitgenössischer Autoren als auch des modernen (vor allem wirtschafthistorischen) Urteils aufgenommen werden. Die Übung soll theoretisches und empirisches Grundwissen vermitteln, vor allem aber den Studierenden die Möglichkeit geben, anhand historischer Probleme bzw. bei Betrachtung bestimmter historischer Perioden, sozialwissenschaftliche Fragestellungen selbst zu entwickeln und mittels ausgewählter Quellen und Forschungsliteratur abzuarbeiten. Ziel soll sein, Kontinuitäten und Wandel sozialer Strukturen zu erkennen und methodisch transparent aus sozialen und politischen und wirtschaftlichen Faktoren herleiten zu können.
