Die Flexion von Substantiven und Adjektiven (Deklination) sowie Verben (Konjugation) ist einerseits ein Kerngebiet der Grammatik und als solches auch historisch sehr stabil. Andererseits, und fast im Gegensatz dazu, wirken seine Regeln willkürlich und widersprüchlich. Entsprechend schwierig gestaltet sich der Erwerb der Flexion, insbesondere bei Nichtmuttersprachlern, sowie der Umgang mit Flexion im schulischen Unterricht.
Ziel des Seminars ist es, ein vertieftes Verständnis der Regelhaftigkeiten der Flexionssysteme des Deutschen zu gewinnen - die tatsächlich eben viel regelhafter sind als es scheint. Auch wenn dabei das Sprachsystem selbst im Vordergrund steht, soll die Perspektive der Anwendung im Unterricht nicht zu kurz kommen. Das Seminar richtet sich speziell an Studierende im Grundschullehramt.
