Das Seminar beleuchtet die Entwicklung und Ausprägung des sozialen Systems der Erziehung und Vermittlung im Kontext europäischer Kulturgeschichte. Das Seminar bietet eine Grundlage zum Verständnis der „gewachsenen“ Pädagogik.
Um einen derart umfassenden Zusammenhang in Seminar greifbar und sinnvoll erschließbar zu machen, werden ausgewählte Personen von Sokrates bis von Hentig in ihrem Wirkungsfeld, in ihrer Zeit und deren Herausforderungen in den Blick genommen. Ihr jeweiliges didaktisches, erzieherisches Konzept soll im Seminar vorgestellt und reflektiert werden.
