Das Seminar bietet die Möglichkeit sich grundständig mit dem Thema Familien in der Beratung auseinanderzusetzen. Dabei werden zunächst relevante Begrifflichkeiten zum Thema (Kind, Elternschaft, Beratung) gemeinsam erkundet und deren Herleitung geklärt. Kindliche Bedürfnisse, gesellschaftliche Erwartungshaltungen an Elternschaft, Familie und geschlechtsspezifische Rollenvorstellungen und das Praxisfeld der Familienberatung werden beleuchtet und mit theoretischen Bezügen fundiert. Wovon ist also bei der Beratung von Familien theoretisch auszugehen und was sind ihre spezifischen Besonderheiten und Herausforderung im Sinne von Konzeptionen in der Beratungspraxis? Daraus lassen sich Wesensmerkmale von Erziehungsberatung und Familienberatung bestimmen, die sowohl für die erziehungswissenschaftliche Beratungsforschung als auch die Beratungspraxis von Familien, von Bedeutung sind.
