Zu Lebzeiten eher ein Außenseiter der westdeutschen Literaturszene, gilt Rolf Dieter Brinkmann (1940-1975) inzwischen als einer der innovativsten Autoren der Gegenwartsliteratur. Er findet zunehmend Anerkennung als Vorreiter einer deutschsprachigen Popliteratur, einflussreicher Vermittler amerikanischer Underground-Literatur und Schöpfer neuer intermedialer Formen. Das Seminar soll einen Überblick über Brinkmanns umfangreiches und facettenreiches lyrisches Werk vermitteln und ihn im literatur- und kulturgeschichtlichen Kontext der Lyrik nach 1945 diskutieren.
