In der metaphorischen, bildhaften Sprache der Psalmen werden elementare Erfahrungen verdichtet dargestellt, deren Entfaltung und Deutung einen ersten Schritt zum selbstständigen Zugang zur Bibel eröffnen können. Die Entdeckung der Psalmen für die religionspädagogische Arbeit schon mit Grundschulkindern ist seit den grundlegenden Arbeiten von Baldermann Thema vieler Veröffentlichungen.
Das Seminar möchte Anregungen für eine vielfältige Arbeit mit Psalmworten als "Schlüsseltexte" im Religionsunterricht geben und Mut machen, sich durch ganzheitlich-kreative Zugänge auf ausgewählte Worte der Psalmen einzulassen.
