Diese Theory Class soll einen offenen Diskussionsraum anbieten, in dem sich die Teilnehmer*innen mit Theorien und theoretischen Fragestellungen auseinandersetzen, die für die eigene historische, kunsthistorische und/oder soziologische Forschung von Relevanz sind. In diesem Rahmen können sich die Teilnehmer*innen den schwierigen theoretischen Text aneignen, den sie lieber in einer Gruppe ergründen möchten, sich an jene Theorie heranarbeiten, die sie schon lange hätten rezipieren wollen und/oder ihrer Neugier auf aktuelle theoretische Debatten in den Geisteswissenschaften nachgehen.

In der ersten Sitzung am 27.10, von 14:00 bis 16:00 Uhr wollen wir Themen und Lektüre-Vorschläge sammeln, thematische Cluster bilden und die darauf folgenden zwei Blocksitzungen (am 12.01 und 19.01.2024, jeweils von 12:00 bis 18:00 Uhr) gemeinsam gestalten.

Die Theory Class ist ein Angebot der Studiengruppe "Denkraum Theorie", die von Britta Hochkirchen, Jana Hoffmann und Lisa Regazzoni getragen wird; sie richtet sich an diskussionsfreudige, theorie-interessierte Doktorand*innen und fortgeschrittene Studierende der Geisteswissenschaften.
