Wie wäre es mit einem Job als Fußpflegerin in Marzahn? Mit Saison-Arbeit im Amazon-Lager in der Vorweihnachtszeit? Oder vielleicht im Schlachthof arbeiten? In den letzten Jahren wird im literarischen und literaturwissenschaftlichen Feld wieder vermehrt Aufmerksamkeit auf die Erfahrungen der sog. Arbeiter:innenklasse oder sozial niedrig gestellter Schichten gelegt. Brauchen wir (wieder) einen ‚Klassen’begriff? Wie wird die Arbeitswelt heute literarisch bearbeitet? Wer darf und kann sich überhaupt literarisch dazu äußern? Can the subaltern speak? (Gayatri Spivak) Wir befassen uns mit Fragen zum Dokumentarischen, zu Authentizität, Wirklichkeit und Identität als Konstruktionen und mit der Frage, was eigentlich die Funktion von Literatur ist (Gesellschaftskritik?) – und vielleicht werden wir nebenbei Ihre studentischen Jobs auf ihre Tauglichkeit als literarischem Stoff befragen …

Wir entscheiden gemeinsam, welche der folgenden Bücher wir lesen: Heike Geißler: Saisonarbeit; Katja Oskamp: Marzahn, mon amour. Geschichten einer Fußpflegerin; Daniela Dröscher: Lügen über meine Mutter; Angelika Klüssendorf: Risse
