250016 Introduction to International Studies in Educational Science (S) (WiSe 2014/2015)

Contents, comment

The seminar is an introductory course to international studies in Educational Science. A short overview over central definitions and terms in international and comparative education will be examined and in relation to their historical background discussed and systemized.
Furthermore special topics in international studies in educational science will be integral part of the seminar. The special topics, which are presented and discussed initially in the seminar context, are:

  • International Education
  • Cosmopolitan identities as a result of International Education
  • Early Childhood Education

General information: the seminar language is English and a good opportunity for students to broaden their knowledge in English academic language. For this reason the general interest in reading English texts and the willing to discuss in English is necessary.

Bibliography

The exclusively English literature, which will treat the international discourse, will be announced in the first session of the seminar and will be provided in the StudIP.
