Erkenntnisse und Methoden der Informatik sind mittlerweile ein fester Bestandteil moderner Industriegesellschaften und beeinflussen die uns heute geläufigen Formen der Natur- und Geisteswissenschaften in erheblichem Maße. Aus diesem Grund ist das Ziel des kleinen Bachelornebenfachs Informatik, Studierenden aus allen Bereichen die Möglichkeit zu eröffnen, grundlegende Konzepte der Informatik zu erwerben und für das Kernfach oder die berufliche Karriere zu nutzen.
Insbesondere werden Studierende mit den Prinzipien der Programmierung vertraut gemacht, sie erwerben Grundkenntnisse im Bereich der objektorientierten und funktionalen Programmierung sowie der Theoretischen Informatik. Sie lernen einfache Probleme algorithmisch zu beschreiben und können darauf aufbauend je nach Profil diese Kenntnisse in Richtung der Planung und Durchführung von Softwareprojekten, der technischen Informatik oder im Bereich der Datenbanken und Informationssysteme ausbauen.

Access to the Bachelor programme is granted to those who have a university entrance qualification suitable for Germany (e. g. German ‘Abitur’).

Application, admission and enrolment
The study places are not subject to any admission restrictions (numerus clausus). Nevertheless, you need to apply within the currently applicable application deadlines. Afterwards, however, you can submit your application for enrolment directly in the application and status portal, provided that you meet the access requirements. If you are already enrolled at Bielefeld University, you need to apply for a change of degree programme.
