What role should science play in society? Can one speak of facts without associating values with them? What is an individual? These are examples of questions to which philosophers of science seek answers. In studying the Minor Subject (30 CPs) Philosophy of Science, you will systematically and historically deal with questions of this kind and with the answers that have been proposed so far, after an overview of topics in Philosophy as a whole. You identify the strengths and weaknesses of these answers and learn to formulate new questions and answers yourself.
In addition to subject knowledge in the narrower sense, you acquire skills in text analysis, in writing and presenting independent philosophical papers, as well as in gathering information and communicating philosophical problems interactively. The focus is on oral skills.
