Mr Serke was a visiting professor at the University of Vienna.
Previously, he held a professorship at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg.
After studying "Integrated Special Education" at Bielefeld University and completing his traineeship as a teacher for special needs education and teaching at the Laborschule [Laboratoy School] in Bielefeld, he was employed as an academic co-worker in the BMBF project BiLieF (https://www.uni-bielefeld.de/fakultaeten/erziehungswissenschaft/bifoki-bilief/bilief/).
For his doctorate/Phd studies on the academic well-being of learners with special educational needs (https://www.klinkhardt.de/verlagsprogramm/2279.html), he was awarded the Aloys Fischer Primary School Research Prize of the German Society for Educational Science (DGfE) and the academic awards of the Dietrich Eggert Foundation for School Inclusion.
Since 2010, Mr Serke has also been active as a moderator in teacher and head teacher training.
