Das Modul ist als integrierte vierstündige Lehrveranstaltung konzipiert! Das Seminar „Augustus - vom Bürgerkriegsbluthund zum Prototyp eines Herrschers“ und die Historische Orientierung „Die Zeit des Augustus“ bilden einen Block und müssen beide regelmäßig besucht werden. Wegen der integrierten Planung wird es für Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmer, die nur eine der beiden Veranstaltungen besuchen, unmöglich sein, dem Fortschreiten in der Erarbeitung und im Kompetenzerwerb zu folgen. Auf Fragen und Probleme, die sich aus dem Versäumen von einzelnen Sitzungen oder einer ganzen Hälfte des Moduls ergeben, wird keine Rücksicht genommen werden können!
Das Modul ist sequentiell in (flexible) Teile gegliedert: Zunächst werde ich in Vorlesungsform einen einführenden Überblick geben; dann lesen wir gemeinsam ausgewählte Texte (antike Quellen; Forschungsliteratur in deutscher und englischer Sprache). Den dritten Abschnitt machen die Präsentationen der Teilnehmer aus (keine Referate im üblichen Sinn!)
