Das Projektseminar/die Übung setzt einen Zyklus von Veranstaltungen fort, der sich mit personenbezogenen Straßenbenennungen und vor allem auch mit der Frage beschäftigt, welche äußeren Einflüsse – nicht selten mehrfach – zu Umbenennungen von Straßen führen. Die Studierenden recherchieren ihre Themen im Wesentlichen mit Hilfe der Quellenmaterialien des Bielefelder Stadtarchivs, das auch durchweg unser Veranstaltungsort sein wird. Die Ergebnisse der Studierenden werden gesammelt und bilden die Grundlage für eine Buchpublikation zu Bielefelder Straßennamen.
Bei der Veranstaltung handelt es sich um den zweiten Teil eines im Wintersemester 2016/17 begonnenen Projektseminars. Insofern können für das Format PjS keine Neuzugänge akzeptiert werden. Studierende, die das Thema im Sommersemester allerdings als Übung studieren möchten, sind herzlich willkommen. Gekoppelt mit einem außeruniversitären Praktikum kann somit das Modul "Geschichte und Öffentlichkeit" komplett abgedeckt werden.
