Die Vorlesung wird unterschiedliche Staats- und Rechtskonzepte vorstellen und ihre jeweiligen Begründungen vertiefen. Der Ablauf folgt einer historischen Sichtweise, beginnend mit antiken Staats- und Rechtslehren und abschließend mit postmodernen Linien und aktuellen Rechtstheorien.

Allgemeines Interesse an philosophischen Fragestellungen. Es muss ferner die Bereitschaft bestehen, neben der Vorlesung Leseaufgaben nachzukommen.
Die Einschreibung in dieser Veranstaltung im eKVV wird vorausgesetzt, ebenso ist die Einschreibung im LernraumPlus Voraussetzung für die Teilnahme.

Die Veranstaltung richtet sich an fortgeschrittene Studierende. Am Ende des Semesters wird am 28. Juli 2017 eine Themenhausarbeit (4 Wochen Bearbeitungszeit) ausgegeben, mit der der Große Grundlagenschein erworben werden kann.
Studierende der beiden strafrechtlichen SPB können ihre SPB-Hausarbeit (Ausgabe durch das Prüfungsamt am 31. Juli 2017) schreiben. Die Anzahl der SPB-Hausarbeiten ist auf 10 begrenzt.
