Das Seminar im Kontext des BA-Basismoduls Germanistik behandelt die Epochenschwelle um 1800, insbesondere den Übergang von der Aufklärung/Klassik zur Romantik. Grundlage des Seminars sind Erzählungen und Novellen zwischen 1784 und 1820: von Karl Phillip Moritz (Fragmente des „Anton Reiser“), J.J. Engel („Das Irrenhaus“), Friedrich Schiller („Der Verbrecher aus verlorener Ehre“), Goethe („Unterhaltungen deutscher Ausgewanderter“), Chr. M. Wieland ("Novelle ohne Titel"), Wackenroder/Tieck („Das merkwürdige musikalische Leben des Tonkünstlers Joseph Berglinger“), E.T.A. Hoffmann („Der Sandmann“), Ludwig Tieck („Der blonde Eckbert“), Heinrich von Kleist („Michael Kohlhaas“), Adelbert von Chamisso („Peter Schlemihls wundersame Geschichte“). Es werden Gruppen von Studierenden gebildet („Expertengruppen“), die während des Semesters gleich bleiben und jede Erzählung jede Woche jeweils unter einem bestimmten Gesichtspunkt (z.B. Erzählperspektive, narrative Struktur, Epochenfragen, Motive, Figuren, Themen) betrachten und darüber referieren.

Bibliography

Schwer zugängliche Literatur wird zur Verfügung gestellt; die Erzählungen von Schiller, E.T.A. Hoffmann, Ludwig Tieck, Kleist und Chamisso gibt es als sehr preiswerte Ausgaben des Reclam-Verlages, die jeweils käuflich zu erwerben sind.
