Im Seminar werden in der gemeinsamen Diskussion Zugänge zu Goethes Roman erarbeitet. Dabei konzentrieren wir uns auf den ersten Teil, also die Lehrjahre. Der Text muss in einer Ausgabe im Seminar vorliegen: ein gutes Ebook mit entsprechender Hardware ist möglich, Downloads auf das Smartphone werden nicht akzeptiert!
Ziel ist die verstehende Kenntnis eines Romans, der vermeintlich gattungsbildend und kanonisch wurde. Im Seminar werden wir über Aspekte des Bildungsromans sprechen (wer bildet sich wozu, was meint Bildung, gibt es überhaupt 'den' Bildungsroman?), aber immer vom konkreten Textbefund ausgehend. Die Leitfrage ist also ganz einfach: wovon erzählen die Lehrjahre und was passiert im Roman warum? Insofern ist es kein Autor-Seminar i.e.S., schon gar nicht wird Goethes Biographie erarbeitet. Literaturgeschichtliche Fragen werden anlassbezogen aufgenommen.

Der Besitz des Romans wird vorausgesetzt und ist bindend für eine Studienleistung. Angesichts des Umfangs muss eine erhöhte Lesebereitschaft vorhanden sein!
