Contents, comment

The introduction seminar provides an overview of the MA Sociology International Track at Bielefeld University.
The target group of the seminar is international students who start to study in the master sociology programm in the summer semester 2017. It can be attended by international students who have enrolled for the MA Sociology at an earlier date.

The course introduces the study programme of the MA Sociology International Track and offers assistance for the compilation of individual timetables for the winter semester 2016/17. The course gives you the opportunity to meet your peers in the MA Sociology International Track and to get familiar with some important faculty structures. The course offers enough room for your individual needs and ideas.
Please note that the course will take place prior to the semester start. In winter semester 2017 a workshop on academic skills development for International Track students will be offered.

For students proficient in German: This introduction is designed for students with no or limited German language skills. For introduction on the study programme in MA Sociology please visit introduction days organized by the student representatives (Fachschaft). You are also welcome to participate in the Interntaional Track: If you complete at least 75 out of 120 credits from MA Sociology International Track courses (courses taught in English and offered in MA Sociology), a certificate of completion of the International Track programme will be issued to you upon graduation. Your master's thesis must be written in English. All courses completed during semester abroad in the language other than German and recognized by the Faculty of Sociology, will be fully recognized as International Track courses.
