230019 Compositionality (S) (SoSe 2017)

(Dieser Kurs wird teilweise auf Englisch gehalten werden.)
A language is compositional if the meaning of an expression is a function of the meanings
of its immediate parts and the mode of composition. The seminar will explain what
this definition says and examine what languages are compositional in this sense.
Moreover, we shall look at cases of (apparent) failure of compositionality and determine
their causes.

Formale Methoden 2, sowie eines von: Grundlagen der Satzsemantik, Einf Computerlinguistik und Sprachtechnologie, Montague Semantik sind
unverzichtbar für ein Verständnis.
