Totgesagte leben länger. Das gilt auch für den Autor, der, nachdem man sich von ihm bereits verabschiedet hatte, ein auffälliges Comeback erlebt hat. Das Seminar will an repräsentativen Texten klären, was es mit dem "Tod des Autors" und seiner Renaissance auf sich hat. Dabei werden verschiedene Konzepte von Autorschaft vorgestellt und im Hinblick auf ihre Implikationen analysiert. Als roter Faden dient die Frage nach der Funktion dieser zentralen Kategorie der Literaturtheorie.
