Über das Phänomen Kitsch wird allerorten gesprochen, allerdings ohne daß diese Bezeichnung bisher die Präzision eines operationalisierbaren und damit allererst auch didaktisch sinnvollen Terminus gewonnen hätte. Auf der anderen Seite dient die Bezeichnung Kitsch gerade im Deutschunterricht als wertendes Unterscheidungskriterium zur "hohen" Kunstliteratur. Das Seminar geht zunächst verschiedenen Kitschbegriffen und Ansätzen zu Theorien des Kitsches nach, sichtet dann vorhandene didaktische Überlegungen, um schließlich Unterrichtsprojekte zum Thema "Kitsch" zu entwickeln.
