Ausgangspunkt des Seminars sind zentrale Fragen der Schul- und Unterrichtsentwicklung, die in Deutschland - auch aufgrund internationaler Erfahrungen - schwerpunktmäßig im letzten Jahrzehnt diskutiert wurden. Dabei werden insbesondere systemische Zusammenhänge neuer Schulentwicklungsprozesse fokussiert. Im Zentrum des Seminars stehen die Konzepte "Selbständige Schule" in NRW und "Eigenverantwortliche Schule" in Niedersachsen. Inhaltliche Schwerpunkte der Auseinandersetzung sind zum einen die Schulprogrammarbeit, die Formulierung von schulischen Leitbildern sowie auf der Ebene der Lehrkräfte die Themen Personalentwicklung, Kooperation im Team und die Arbeit von Steuergruppen. Zum anderen werden auf der Ebene des Unterrichts die Verbesserung der Unterrichtsqualität durch Trainingsspiralen zur Methoden-, Team- und Kommunikationskompetenz im Fokus stehen. Abschließend werden Fragen der Evaluation von Schul- und Unterrichtsentwicklungen und der Schulinspektion thematisiert und reflektiert. Das Seminar dient den Studierenden dazu, ihre berufsbezogene Kompetenzen hinsichtlich dieser Thematik zu entwickeln.
