Die Videowerkstatt bietet eine Einführung in das Genre des Kurzfilm in allen Varinanten einschließlich des Animationsfilms, belegt ahhand von Beispielen. Das Instrumentarium zum systematischen Zugriff auf das Medium wird in Gruppen erarbeitet. Die Teilnehmenden erfahren, wie man aus dem verfügbaren Angebot von Kurzfilmen im Fernsehen und im Internet Filme auswählt und Kurzfilmanalysen durchführt.
Im zweiten Teil werden Kurzfilmideen zu Storyboards ausgearbeitet, um diese dann als Grundlage für einen Kurzfilmdreh zu verwenden. Am Schluß steht die Premiere der entstandenen Kurzfilme.
