Welchen didaktischen und methodischen Mehrwert hat der Einsatz von bildlichen Quellen im Geschichtsunterricht? In welchen Phasen und mit welchen Zielsetzungen können Bilder gewinnbringend eingesetzt werden? Oder stehen Aufwand und Erkenntnisgewinn in keinem sinnvollen Verhältnis? Ausgehend von diesen und ähnlichen Fragen sollen im Seminar verschiedene Bildquellen - von klassischen Historiengemälden über Karikaturen bis hin zu Comics und Graphic Novels - und ihre Einsatzmöglichkeiten im Geschichtsunterricht in den Blick genommen und gefragt werden, welchen Beitrag sie zur Ausbildung eines reflektierten Geschichtsbewusstseins leisten können. Dabei wird es auch um die Frage gehen, wie durch und mit Bildern Geschichte erzählt wird.

Regelmäßige und vorbereitete, aktive Teilnahme sowie eine Hausarbeit (10-12 Seiten), ggf. eine Präsentation mit schriftlicher Ausarbeitung (8-10 Seiten). Evtl. Teilnahme an einer verbindlichen Exkursionen zu einem außerschulischen Lernort nach Absprache. Diese Exkursion wird auf die SWS angerechnet.
