Das Seminar bereitet das Berufsfeldpraktikum vor. Dieses findet in der vorlesungsfreien Zeit statt. Die Themen im Seminar sind die Unterrichtsplanung im Hinblick auf eine Unterrichtsstunde und auch die Reihenplanung. Dabei erarbeiten die Studierenden konkrete und individuelle Unterrichtsvorhaben, welche sie im Praktikum möglicherweise ausprobieren können. Weitere Themen sind vor allem die Methodik der unterschiedlichen Lernformen (u.a. kooperative Lernformen).
