Gegenstand der Lehrveranstaltung ist die deutsche Morphologie und Syntax in deskriptiver und theoretischer Perspektive, wobei diachrone und variationslinguistische Aspekte bei ausgesuchten Themen berücksichtigt werden.
Die Lehrveranstaltung knüpft an das in der linguistischen Fachportal-Veranstaltung erworbene Grundlagenwissen an. Thematische Schwerpunkte in der Morphologie bilden u.a. neuere Systematisierungsversuche im Bereich der Nominalflexion und die Entstehung von Derivationssuffixen. Den zentralen Schwerpunkt im Bereich der Syntax bildet die Einführung in das Grammatikmodell der Generativen Grammatik. Darüber hinaus werden theoretische und diachrone Aspekte der Wortstellung behandelt.
