Der Kurs startet mit einem Intensviblock am Freitag/Samstag vor Beginn der offiziellen Vorlesungszeit und läuft regelmäßig dienstags mit jeweils 2,5 vollen Zeitstunden. Zwei Blockphasen an Freitagen und Samstagen sind integriert: Am Fr.,14. und Sa.15. Oktober sowie am 21. und 32. Oktober. Tage, an denen die Teilnehmenden sich voll auf das Italienische konzentrieren sollen.
Im Semester ein Treffen pro Woche über 2,5 Stunden .
Der Schwerpunkt wird auf der Kommunikation und dem Erwerb grundlegender Grammatik liegen. Am Ende des Kurses werden die Teilnehmer/-innen Alltagssituationen bewältigen können.Das Buch arbeitet nicht mit einem Lehrwerk, sondern mit einer Lerngrammatik und aktuell zusammengestellten Medien. Zudem viel mit Rollenspielen und Musik.
Die Erklärsprache ist Deutsch.

Der Kurs richtet sich an Anfänger, die über keine Vorkenntnisse in der italienischen Sprache verfügen.

Bei dieser Veranstaltung ist es möglich, 5 LP zu erwerben. Voraussetzung dafür ist eine kontinuierliche Mitarbeit im Unterricht sowie die Erledigung von Aufgaben zur Vor- und Nachbereitung der einzelnen Stunden.
Die Veranstaltung enthält als Prüfungs- oder Studienleistung einen Test nach ca. 2/3 des Kurses sowie die Abgabe von Hausaufgaben bis zum Kursende.
