301210 Academic Writing in the Social Sciences (S) (WiSe 2026/2027)

Contents, comment

This four-part seminar is an additional offering from Bielefeld University for students who are struggling with academic writing, whether they are working on papers, essays, theses, or dissertations.

Your teacher is a British native speaker with extensive experience in providing feedback on academic writing.

In these seminars, we will address topics that many student writers find challenging, including structuring your writing, finding and using sources, writing style, register and tone, and the use of AI. We will also discuss personal factors that can affect the writing process, such as writer's block and procrastination.

However, the main focus of the seminars is writing together and receiving feedback from your teacher.

If you sign up, you do not need to attend all four seminars. Each seminar is designed to be a stand-alone event.

Requirements for participation, required level

All Bielefeld University students are welcome to join these seminars.
