Im Zentrum der Lehrveranstaltung stehen fortgeschrittene methodische und psychometrische Grundlagen der psychologischen Diagnostik. Themenschwerpunkte sind u. a. die Item-Response-Theorie, der diagnostische Prozess, die Auswahl von Tests und die Zusammenstellung von Testbatterien, Modelle der diagnostischen Urteilsbildung, die Akkuratheit der diagnostischen Urteilsbildung, Probleme differentieller Prognosen, Zuordnungs- und Klassifikationsstrategien, Entscheidungsfehler, Nutzentheorie, Generalisierbarkeit der Validität psychologischer Tests, Veränderungsmessung, Testfairness, Erstellung von Gutachten, Evaluation und Qualitätssicherung psychologischer Diagnostik (z.B. DIN33430).

Das Seminar richtet sich ausschließlich an Studierende des MSc-Studiengangs Psychologie. Eine erfolgreiche Teilnahme am Modul B verlangt Vorkenntnisse in der psychologischen Diagnostik im Umfang von 9 Leistungspunkten, in der differentiellen Psychologie im Umfang von 6 Leistungspunkten in BSc Studiengängen Psychologie sowie in der psychologischen Statistik im Umfang von 9 Leistungspunkten.
