990074 Workshop for PhD candidates: Meet the Editor (WS) (WiSe 2026/2027)

Scientific journals are under pressure. They get far too many submissions to publish them all. The ideal decision about the fate of your submission would be scientific content. However, the reality is harsh: A (sometimes considerable) faction of all submissions is filtered out based on superficial criteria. These desk rejections are based on your submission (content, form etc.) AND soft factors. We will discuss these soft factors and how you can tweak them in your favor.

We also look at the most important boxes to check regarding the content and form of your submission to avoid desk rejections based on superficial readings. In the runup to the workshop, send (1) your questions surrounding inside perspectives from scientific journal editors and (2) your drafts/submissions (to discuss or improve at the workshop) to pprogramm-psy@uni-bielefeld.de, no later than 6th November.
