Diese Veranstaltung umfasst eine über zwei Semester vorbereitete und durchgeführte Fallstudie im Umfang von 120 Stunden, die Theorie und Praxis im Sinne des forschenden Lernens miteinander verbindet und das Praxissemester sonderpädagogisch ergänzt. Die Studierenden werden in diagnostische Aufgaben und sonderpädagogische Handlungsfelder eingeführt und reflektieren im Seminar den zirkulären Prozess von Diagnostik, Förderplanung, Förderung und Evaluation anhand konkreter Fälle. Die Praxisphase findet an einer Förderschule oder einer inklusiv arbeitenden allgemeinen Schule statt und wird durch Vor- und Nachbereitung begleitet.

Im Rahmen der Fallstudie bearbeiten die Studierenden eine wissenschaftliche Fragestellung mit qualitativen Forschungsmethoden; die Ergebnisse werden in einem Fallstudienbericht dokumentiert, der zugleich die Modulprüfung darstellt.
