Understanding how organisms adapt to rapid environmental change is a key question in ecology and evolution. Invasive species provide a natural laboratory for studying this process, as they are faced with novel and often previously unexperienced environmental conditions upon introduction. Through discussion of key research papers, this seminar series will explore the genomic and epigenomic mechanisms that enable invasive species to establish and thrive in novel environments. The seminar is open to BS, MS, and PhD students interested in evolutionary biology, ecology, genetics, and global change biology.
