Bestimmen, Datieren und Einordnen gehören auch heute noch zu den Tätigkeiten von Kunsthistoriker*innen. Im Seminar werden diese Fähigkeiten eingeübt. Die mit den Tätigkeiten des Bestimmens, Datierens und Ordnens verbundenen Konstruktionen von u.a. Epochen, Kanon, Stil und Geschmack werden im Seminar benannt, hinterfragt und diskutiert. Das Seminar wird mit einer Klausur abgeschlossen.
Der Besuch des Tutoriums zur „Kunstgeschichte der Region“ ist obligatorisch.
