This course will focus on developing students’ abilities in understanding and expressing their opinions about the world around them: their interests, places of work or study, and additional topics of current interest. The course will make use of a variety of ressources including a textbook, print and broadcast media. The in-class communication practice will follow a mixed format involving speaking, reading and listening and will provide a chance to review the most fundamental grammar points of English.
To finish the B1 level, this course needs to be complemented by a dedicated speaking course (e.g. Speaking with Confidence) and a separate writing course at the B1+ level (e.g. English Writing Workshop B1+).
Successful completion of Englisch für leicht Fortgeschrittene (level A2.2) or C-Test of the Language Center (for dates please see http://www.uni-bielefeld.de/fachsprachenzentrum/tests.html)
